Paula Arribas Castaño
I graduated in Biology and later completed the Master's Degree in Health Biology at the Complutense University of Madrid. Over the years, my interest in the field of science research has grown, especially regarding intercellular communication and its application to musculoskeletal pathologies.
For my Bachelor's Thesis and later my Master's Thesis, we investigated the effect of VIP on the regulation of the differentiation process of osteoclasts and osteoblasts, as well as its potential impact on human bone homeostasis. I carried out these projects under the supervision of Professors Mar Carrión and Rosa P. Gomariz.
For my PhD thesis, we have started a new line of research focused on extracellular vesicles and the potential of VIP as a regulator of this communication system between cells in the bone microenvironment.
