Verónica Sánchez Gil es una estudiante en el grado de Estudios Ingleses de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid que aspira a convertirse en profesora y escritora. En su último curso recibió la Beca UCM de Colaboración en Departamentos e Institutos Universitarios y desde 2022 forma parte de la revista Journal of Artistic and Literary Research (JACLR) como revisora. Asimismo, en JACLR ha publicado “The Female Expression of the Artist and the Artwork in Kate Chopin’s The Awakening and Edith Wharton’s The House of Mirth”. Sus intereses académicos abarcan la mitología y lenguas clásicas, campo en el que está determinada a expandir sus conocimientos actuales; gracias a la asignatura Shakespeare: Lectura Crítica, su interés por la mitología se ha visto reflejado en la influencia y presencia de mitos clásicos en las obras de William Shakespeare.

En las áreas de interés académico y de investigación se encuentran también los estudios de género, la poesía en Gran Bretaña y América a partir del siglo XX, y movimientos literarios como Modernismo y Postmodernismo, así como la fragilidad del lenguaje para transmitir pensamientos y sentimientos. Desde pequeña ha desarrollado una gran pasión por las formas de expresión artística como el dibujo y la literatura, especialmente la de género fantástico. Compagina su desarrollo profesional e intelectual con un crecimiento artístico en la creación de un proyecto literario a largo plazo bajo el nombre de Nevi Aeter. De cara a su futuro profesional siempre ha sabido que su lugar estaba en el mundo de la docencia, y se reafirma en esa noción gracias a su continuada experiencia dando clases de inglés, lengua, y latín a distintas edades. Verónica Sánchez Gil is a student pursuing a Degree in English Studies at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, aiming to become a teacher and a writer. In her last year she was beneficiary of a UCM Collaboration Grant in Departments and University Institutes and since 2022 she takes part in the Journal of Artistic and Literary Research (JACLR) as a reviewer. Additionally, she has published in JACLR the article “The Female Expression of the Artist and the Artwork in Kate Chopin’s The Awakening and Edith Wharton’s The House of Mirth”. Her academic interests encompass classic mythology and languages, field in which she is determined to broaden her actual knowledge; thanks to the course Shakespeare: Critical Reading, her interest in mythology has been reflected in the influence and presence of classic myths in the work of William Shakespeare.

Her academic and research interests also revolve around gender studies, poetry in Great Britain and America from the twentieth-century, and literary movements such as Modernism and  Postmodernism, as well as the frailty of language to convey thoughts and express feelings. Since childhood, she has developed a great passion for the different forms of artistic expression like painting and literature, especially fantastic literature. Verónica combines her professional and intellectual progress with artistic growth in the creation of a long-term literary project named Nevi Aeter. She keeps experimenting in search of her own style in an account on Instagram (@nevi_aether).

Verónica envisions herself as a teacher in her future professional life and she reiterates her position thanks to her continued experience teaching English, Spanish language and Latin to different age groups.
