Reviewers
Unless otherwise specified, JACLR expects reviewers to handle all submissions in confidence. It should not be shown or discussed with anyone, except if authorized by the editor. Similarly, information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for the reviewers’ personal advantage or in their own research without the express written consent of the author.
Reviews should be conducted in a critical, objective, honest and constructive manner. It should also be anonymous. All observations should be formulated clearly with supporting arguments and in a constructive way, so that authors can use them to improve their work.
If reviewers identify similarities between any content of the work reviewed and other published material that has not been cited by the authors, they should notify the editor or the editorial team.
Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the proposed manuscript or thinks that a prompt review will be impossible must notify the editor. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts that conflict with interests resulting from competitive, collaborative or other relationships or connections with any of the authors or institutions linked to the work in question.
