Marta Parrondo González is a last year undergraduate student at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, pursuing a degree in English Studies. She specialises in British literature. During her last year of her degree, Marta was granted a scholarship to start investigating alongside the English Linguistics and Literature department. That is when she realised that she has a special interest in feminist studies and the revision of the literary canon. Her undergraduate dissertation, "Dark figures of female liberation. The mermaid, the nun, and the spectre in Anne Bannerman's poetry" explores a female poet who had been almost forgotten. Next year she will be studying a Master's degree in Cultural and Literary British Studies in Universidad Autónoma, where she intends to further her investigations.

Marta Parrondo González es una estudiante de último año de Estudios Ingleses en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, especializada en literatura británica. Durante su último curso, Marta obtuvo una beca de colaboración para poder investigar en el departamento de Lingüística y Literatura Inglesa de la facultad. Ahí es cuando se dio cuenta de que su mayor interés se encuentra en los estudios literarios con perspectiva de género y la revisión del canon literario. Su trabajo de fin de grado, ""Dark figures of female liberation. The mermaid, the nun, and the spectre in Anne Bannerman's poetry" explora la obra de una poeta casi olvidada. Durante el próximo curso escolar estudiará en la Universidad Autónoma un máster de Estudios culturales y literarios británicos, donde pretende seguir esta rama de investigación.
