Marta González Cañete holds a degree in English Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid (2022), as well as a postgraduate degree in Children's Literature from the Trinity College of Dublin (2023). During her stay at Trinity, she specialised in young adult literature, attending a seminar about Terry Pratchet's work. She is currently taking a break from her studies, while she builds merits to start a PhD in the 2025-2026 academic year.
After completing her postgraduate studies, Marta obtained her CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge University. This allowed her to enjoy her first work experience as an English teacher to adults at Erin College in Dublin, where she worked for 10 months before moving back to Spain.
Her research interests center around Gothic fiction and its influences in contemporary young adult literature, with a focus on a feminist and queer perspective. Her dissertation “Transforming the Vampire for Young Adults: Mr. Cullen's Distorted Reflection in the Mirror of Lord Ruthven” was recently published by JACLR in the field of academic research, the same journal in which she published “Historical and
Literary Origins of the Black Lives Matter Movement” back in 2021.

Marta González Cañete es licenciada en Filología Inglesa por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2022), y obtuvo un posgrado en Literatura Infantil por el Trinity College de Dublín (2023). Durante su estancia en la Trinity, se especializó en literatura juvenil y asistió a un seminario sobre la obra de Terry Pratchet. Actualmente se encuentra haciendo una pausa en sus estudios, mientras acumula méritos para iniciar un doctorado en el curso 2025-2026.
