Emrah Atasoy

Emrah Atasoy, an Associate Professor of English Language and Literature, is an Honorary Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS), University of Warwick, UK. He earned his PhD from Hacettepe University’s Department of English Language and Literature in Türkiye in 2019. Recently, he was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Cofund Fellow at the IAS and in English and Comparative Literary Studies at Warwick. Atasoy held visiting scholar positions at prestigious institutions including Harvard University, the University of Oxford, Pompeu Fabra University-Barcelona, and Penn State University. His monograph, Epistemological Warfare and Hope in Critical Dystopia (2021) was published by Nobel. He is co-editor of Utopian and Dystopian Explorations of Pandemics and Ecological Breakdown: Entangled Futurities (Routledge 2024) and the critical forum “Cultural Encounters and Textual Speculations in the Mediterranean” (Utopian Studies 2024). His research appeared in leading journals such as Critique: Studies in Contemporary FictionStudies in the NovelUtopian StudiesScience Fiction Studies, and Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts. Atasoy also serves as the section editor for utopian/dystopian studies, speculative fiction, and science fiction for The Literary Encyclopedia.
