Department history
The Economics section of the former Faculty of Political, Economics and Business Sciences moved to the Campus of Somosaguas Campus from the Campus of Ciudad Universitaria in 1969. In 1971 the Economics section was split and the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences was created.
Two departments are formed, among others: the Department of Economic Theory associated with the chairs of Luis Ángel Rojo and Julio Segura, and the Department of Econometrics associated with the chairs of Ángel Alcaide, which later went on to that of Jaime Terceiro, and Josep Borrell, which included professors of econometrics and mathematics.
In 1985, the two departments were restructured into two other departments of Economic Analysis I (Economic Analysis) -FAE I- and Economic Analysis II (Quantitative Economics) -FAE II-, which arise from splits and mergers of the old departments of Economic Theory and Econometrics (the mathematics section that came from the old chair of Josep Borrell went to FAE I and the econometrics and mathematics section of Jaime Terceiro went to FAE II). In 2018 the two departments were merged again, forming the current Department of Economic Analysis and Quantitative Economics (DANAE).
