Resources
Our research group has its own laboratory in the Department of Cell Biology of the Faculty of Biology, with the appropriate equipment for the use of the methodology required for the proposal presented in the project. This includes:
- Equipment for the preparation of tissue samples: perfusion pump, sliding microtome, vibratome, cryostat, gas extraction chambers, etc.
- Sample processing equipment for immunodetection and in situ hybridisation: shakers, precision balances, laminar flow chambers, cell incubators, ovens, tempered baths, electrophoresis equipment, UV transilluminator, refrigerators, etc.
- Equipment for in vitro analysis of neuronal tracing: stereotactic surgery system and magnifying surgical microscope, iontophoresis and pressure injection systems, peristaltic pumps.
- Equipment for histological analysis: photomicroscopes and stereoscopes equipped for transmitted light and fluorescence, equipment for microscopic imaging.
- In addition, the group uses routinely research support centres (CAI) of the Complutense University: UCM Animal Facility, Complutense Bioimaging CAI, Biological Techniques CAI, Confocal Microscopy CAI, Genomic Analysis CAI.
The present project adheres in each of its objectives to the current legal regulations and in particular to the Royal Decree 53/2013 and the order ECC/566/2015, which establish the basic rules applicable to the protection of experimental animals and the training requirements. We have the approval of the "animal experimentation committee" of the Complutense University of Madrid.
