Nerea Moreno García

Principal Investigator of the Group and Associate Professor

I studied Biological Sciences (specialising in Neurobiology) at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) and obtained my PhD at the same university, analysing the development and organisation of the amphibian amygdaloid complex, under the direction of Prof. Agustín González. Since 2003 I was part of Dr. Sylvie Rétaux's lab, first as a predoctoral and then as a postdoctoral student, in her group on Forebrain Development and Evolution, at the CNRS Université Paris-Saclay.

Since 2010 I have been a full professor in the Department of Cell Biology at the Complutense University of Madrid. And since 2015 I am director of the UCM research group "EVOLUTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE VERTEBRATE NERVOUS SYSTEM (920968)".

Teaching

My current teaching activity is focused on the Master in Neuroscience where I teach and am responsible for the subject "Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology".

Management

I have dedicated part of my time to academic management, first as department secretary for 6 years and later as Vice-Dean of Academic and Postgraduate Organisation in the Faculty of Biological Sciences for 4 years.
