Daniel Lozano Rebollo

Assistant Professor

I graduated as a biologist specialising in Neurobiology at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), where I also studied the Master's degree in Neuroscience and received my PhD under the supervision of Professors Jesús López and Agustín González in 2020. My work in this research group, to which I have belonged since 2013, has focused on the neurochemical and genoarchitectonic study of the central nervous system (CNS) of different osteichthyan fish models, including both sarcopterygians (lungfish) and the four groups of actinopterygians (cladistians, chondrichthyes, holosteans and teleosts). Thus, we have described the organisation of neurotransmitter systems and the distribution of transcription factor expression patterns in the CNS of these models, which allows us to regionalise the CNS following the prosomeric model and to understand its evolution in these early stages of vertebrate phylogeny.

Teaching

I teach theory and practical classes of the subject "Cell Biology and Histology", and "Comparative Organography", both within the Degree in Biology at the UCM. On the other hand, I also teach the subjects "The origin of life", "The human brain" and "Biology under the microscope" at the Senior University of the UCM.
