Ana Martínez Gómez
I did the Degree in Biology (2017-2021) at the University of Girona, then I did the Master in Regenerative Biomedicine (2021-2022) at the University of Granada and during the same year I did an Erasmus+ at the University of Lodz (Poland). I have completed the Animal Training Course A and B (2023) for rodents, reptiles, amphibians and fish.
In the laboratory, I study pallium neurogenesis in the amphibian Xenopus laevis during its embryonic stages using EdU (DNA intercalating agent) by marking dividing cells at a certain time of development. In order to visualise the different pallial regions, we used immunohistochemical techniques to detect region-specific markers such as Satb1 for the lateral pallium and Meis2 for the ventral pallium. In addition, we used Sox2 and Lhx2 to characterise neural precursor cells and pallial precursor cells respectively.
