Andrés Ferrer Ruiz was born in Madrid, Spain in 1988. He obtained his degree in Chemistry in 2013 at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. The same year, he joined Nazario Martín´s group and he carried out his Final Year Project entitle "New strategies for the synthesis of functional nanomaterials based on carbon". In 2014 he obtained his Master Degree in Organic Chemistry and he started his PhD studies under supervision of Prof. Mª Ángeles Herranz and Prof. Nazario Martín. He is currently researching about functionalization of graphene and synthesis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
