Doctoral thesis carried out at UCM under the direction of Prof. Loreto Ballester; defended on January 18, 1989 obtaining the qualification of APTO CUM LAUDE, being extraordinary prize in the call of 1990.
Previous lines of research:
- Chemistry of organometallic and coordination compounds of nickel and ruthenium containing sulfur-giving ligands, in particular, dithiocarbonates and dithiocarbamates.
- Organometallic chemistry of rhenium imides in high oxidation states, corresponding to two postdoctoral stays at the Department of Chemistry, Imperial College London, under the supervision of Prof. Sir Geoffrey Wilkinson during a total period of 16 months.
- Coordination chemistry of the anion-radical species TCNQ, with special incidence in the resolution of crystal structures by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and the interpretation of the magnetic properties of the supramolecular entities obtained.
Current lines of research:
- Coordination compounds of transition metals with complex molecular assemblies, to form networks of different dimensionality. Study of their structural and magnetic properties.
- Magnetic properties of polymetallic clusters.
