Expedition to Antarctica’s iceberg cemetery to reconstruct Earth’s history

Iceberg Alley expedition to Antarctica took place in MarchMay 2019. We spent 9 weeks drilling the ocean floor on board R/V Joides Resolution at the Antarctica’s iceberg graveyard to understand climate changes in the past with the purpose to predict the future, including the variability of the Antarctic Ice Sheet, ocean current evolution and sea level changes. During this talk, the objectives of the expedition as well as the field work will be presented describing the different laboratories, samples and routines onboard. Additionally, first results and discoveries will be shown and discussed.
