PhD fellowship: Dynamics of quantum entanglement in spinor gases
The PhD project aims at the study of the high-dimensional entangled states that can be obtained using the native (contact and dipolar) interactions among bosonic atoms carrying a large spin. We shall study the generation of spin- as well as momentum-entangled states in Bose-Einstein condensates of spinor atoms, and investigate their use in entanglement-assisted quantum metrology. The theory project will be conducted in close collaboration with the experimental group of S. Nascimbène (Laboratoire Kastler-Brossel, Paris), working on Dy atoms [1,2]. The PhD candidate shall work with a variety of techniques, including Gaussian-state Ansätze [3]; their beyond-Gaussian generalization; and time-dependent variational Ansätze [4]. The PhD fellowship will be co-supervised by Tommaso Roscilde (tommaso.roscilde@ens-lyon.fr) and Fabio Mezzacapo (fabio.mezzacapo@ens-lyon.fr) at the Laboratoire de Physique, ENS de Lyon; and it is funded by a collaborative project, financed by the "Agence Nationale de la Recherche" of France.
