The German Center for Astrophysics (DZA) in Görlitz and the TU Dresden (TUD) announced a larger number of positions for a
Pilot Team for Cutting Edge Method Developments in Radio Astronomy
to develop
- infrastructure for the handling of large radio astronomical data sets
- fast, FPGA based methods to detect transient astrophysical signals and
- a software radio camera, to be built on Bayesian principles
The team will consists of research associates (salary: 100% E13), PhD students (salary: 100% E13 as well), and a coordinator (salary: 100% E14, position to be announced soon) with a broad spectrum of abilities (radio interferometry, computer science, high performance computing, Bayesian statistics, information field theory, artificial intelligence, data management, project coordination, ...).
