PhD positions openings at QUINFOG, CSIC
29 oct 2022 - 11:40 CET
QUINFOG is offering several PhD and postdoc positions giving the opportunity to join our research in Quantum Technologies. The new positions will be funded from a range of diverse sources including using National and Regional projects and agreements with private institutions.
QUINFOG (see https://quinfog.hbar.es/) is located at the central Madrid campus of CSIC, the Spanish National Research Council. The faculty are Juanjo García-Ripoll, Alejandro González Tudela, Diego Porras, Luca Tagliacozzo and Tomas Ramos. Their joint expertise covers a wide range of topics in the realm of quantum technologies ranging from fundamental physics, quantum optics and simulation, many-body systems, and quantum and quantum-inspired algorithms. The group also hosts several post-docs and PhD students that, together with our many national and international collaborators, provide us a lively and stimulating research environment.
The ideal candidate should have previous background (commensurate with the position you want to apply) in one of our research fields. We would love to host motivated and independent researchers and we are committed to equality and diversity so that we encourage applications from underrepresented minorities.
We offer positions with competitive salaries. The positions include 1 PhD scholarship (FPI program), and 1-2 PhD or post-doctoral contracts that will be filled depending on the number and quality of the applications, with an expected starting date in most of them of January 2023 (some flexibility is possible).
Specific topics of interest include:
- Quantum optics.
- Quantum and quantum-inspired algorithms.
- Quantum simulators and quantum many-body physics.
Expressions of interest, including a CV, the contact details of two references and a motivation letter (specifying the topic where they would like to work) should be addressed to: quinfog@gmail.com.
Please don’t hesitate to contact any of the faculty members if you would like to discuss possible projects and would like to have further information about our group.
