Nuria Calvo Cortés es Profesora Permanente Laboral del Departamento de Estudios Ingleses de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, donde lleva trabajando desde el año 2006. Defendió su tesis doctoral sobre semántica y sintaxis cognitiva en el año 2012, obteniendo la calificación de ‘sobresaliente cum laude’. Desde sus comienzos se ha interesado por la lingüística histórica y diacrónica, haciendo uso de diferentes corpora para llevar a cabo distintos tipos de análisis desde una orientación cognitiva. Ha desarrollado programas para diferentes asignaturas impartidas en el departamento, algunas de las cuales también ha coordinado y/o sigue coordinando en la actualidad. Forma parte también de algunas comisiones y está muy involucrada en las diferentes actividades del departamento a pesar de su condición de trabajo a tiempo parcial. Ha dirigido numerosos trabajos de fin de grado y una tesis doctoral, y en la actualidad se encuentra dirigiendo otras dos tesis doctorales, una de las cuales se defenderá en breve. Igualmente, ha sido y es evaluadora externa de diferentes revistas nacionales e internacionales y ha formado y forma parte de diversos comités científicos de congresos y revistas.
