Emilio Gomez is an Associate Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering Department of the Complutense University of Madrid.

In 1981, Professor Gomez carried out his MSc thesis on kinetics model of catalyst deactivation. He was graduated in 1982 in and continued his research on the modeled of oxygen transfer in stirred tank bioreactors. Later, in 1995, he received his PhD degree in Industrial Chemistry at the same university.

Since 1992, he has been part of a research group and took part in different research projects. He mainly works in the following fields of research: Bioreactor design, scaling strategies of bioprocesses, kinetic models of bioprocesses and the influence of fluid dynamics and gas-liquid mass transfer in bioprocess.

He act as a reviewer for international journals related to her researching field, such as Chemical Engineering Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering & Technology, Biochemical Engineering Science, Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering.

Moreover, he has written more than 50 works, including high scientific impact publications, encyclopedia chapters, congresses communications, patents and divulgation of science, related to the different fields of research in which I have developed his work. As a results, the h index is 13 (Scopus/Google Scholar) with 2800 total citations and 1639 in the last five years.

Currently, he is a member of a professional organization National Association of Spanish Chemists (ANQUE) and responsible of the chemical education in this organization.
