The Gender Equality Unit

The Gender Equality Unit at UCM is responsible for identifying and analysing gender inequality and implementing measures to include a gender perspective at the university in pursuit of a more equal university.

What does the Unit do?

Identify and analyse gender inequality: collect data and perform quantitative and qualitative studies about equality in the university
Raise awareness and educate the university community, including students, teaching and research staff and administration and services staff
Formulation, implementation and evaluation of the Equality Plans with participation from the entire university community
Encourage gender studies and research as well as including a gender perspective in all the teaching and research carried out at the university
Ensure that the relevant legislation on equality is adhered to, including encouraging and using inclusive and non-sexist language in the university environment.
Prevent, detect and address sexual and sexist harassment, as well as any other expression of gender violence
