The Gender Equality Unit
The Gender Equality Unit at UCM is responsible for identifying and analysing gender inequality and implementing measures to include a gender perspective at the university in pursuit of a more equal university.
What does the Unit do?
- Identify and analyse gender inequality: collect data and perform quantitative and qualitative studies about equality in the university
- Raise awareness and educate the university community, including students, teaching and research staff and administration and services staff
- Formulation, implementation and evaluation of the Equality Plans with participation from the entire university community
- Encourage gender studies and research as well as including a gender perspective in all the teaching and research carried out at the university
- Ensure that the relevant legislation on equality is adhered to, including encouraging and using inclusive and non-sexist language in the university environment.
- Prevent, detect and address sexual and sexist harassment, as well as any other expression of gender violence
