Raúl Leopoldo Canosa Usera
Raúl Canosa Usera holds the Constitutional Law Chair at the Faculty of Law in Complutense University of Madrid, where he served as Dean from 2008 to 2016. He obtained both his graduate and doctorate in Complutense, having completed his education at the Spanish Law Institute in Rome in the years in-between. He worked as a consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO) in the Italian capital city, and he was member of the European Committee of Social Rights and vocal of the Spanish Central Electoral Commission during a semester.
He is author of multiple scientific articles, collective works and monographies, among which the following are found: “Interpretación constitucional y fórmula política” (1988), “Legitimación autonómica en el Estado constitucional” (1993), “Constitución y medio ambiente” (2000), “El derecho a la integridad personal” (2006), “Interpretación y garantías constitucionales” (2013), “El control de convencionalidad” (2015). Su última obra La Europa de los derechos sociales. La Carta Social Europea y otros sistemas internacionales de protección (Tirant lo Blanch), co-edited with professor Encarnación Carmona Cuenca.
Canosa Usera has taught in doctorate and postgraduate courses, having participated in seminaries and conferences, both in Europe and Latin America, as well. Up to date, he has directed twenty three PhD thesis.
