Marta Fernández Bueno is Professor at German and Slavics studies Department at Complutense University of Madrid since 2006 , where she gor her PhD in 2002 after a long scientific stay at Humboldt University of Berlin with a DAAD scholarship.

Head of research group INCYLHA (“Intercambios culturales y literarios hispanoalemanes”), has also been course director from 2015 until 2021 of the Master’s degree programme in Intercultural European Studies, an international programme  coordinated by UCM together with Universität Regensburg (Germany) and Université Clermont-Auvergne (France).

Her research mainly focus German literature of XXth century, Spanish and German literary relations and literary translation of drama.

She is also an autor of several literary translation, from which can be noted: La mancha azul de la pared, de Tankred Dorst (Madrid: Asociación de Directores de Escena de España, 2019); Viaje por España, de Heinrich Friedrich Link (Madrid: Los libros de la Catarata, 2011); Preparativos para la inmortalidad, de Peter Handke (Guipúzcoa: Hiru, 2005); Manifiestos por la revolución, de Bertolt Brecht (Madrid: Debate, 2002) o La cabeza de Harry; Toller; El jardín prohibido, de Tankred Dorst (Guipúzcoa: Hiru, 2002).
