María Pilar Ladrón Tabuenca

Doctor in Law (2007) and graduated in European Communities by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Madrid, 1994).

Procedural Law Professor at the University of Alcalá since 1993/1994 in different degree and postgraduate courses. She has taught as well in other institutions such as the San Pablo Foundation – CEU, the Alfonso X El Sabio University, the University of Chile, the UPAO (Perú), or Lisbon (Portugal).

Regarding academic management, she has been Secretary and Degree and International Relations Vice-dean at the University of Alcalá.

Her research focuses on Civil, Penal and European Procedural Law, Disability Law, the access to Justice for vulnerable people and the Human Trafficking issue. She has enjoyed some research residencies at the European Court of Justice (Luxembourg), the European University Institute (Florence, Italy), or the Catholic University of Trujillo (Peru). She has likewise participated in several national and international congresses and meetings, as well as different research and innovation projects.

Member of the “Team Madrid-Europa” of the General Direction of Cooperation between the State and the European Union in Madrid, of the University Institute of Political Sciences Research (Ministry of Internal Affairs – University of Alcalá), and the work team of the Human Trafficking Department of the Migration and Human Mobility Subcommittee of the Spanish Episcopal Conference.

Her tesis, “Aspectos orgánicos y competenciales del Tribunal de Primera Instancia de las Comunidades Europeas”, was granted with the Condueños Society Award to the best PhD tesis in 2006/2007.
