Magdalena Suárez Ojeda
Magdalena Suárez Ojeda is a professor in the Administrative Law Department of the Faculty of Documentation Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and Director of the UCM Equality Unit. She was also Academic Secretary of the Institute for Feminist Research (2008-2015), General Coordinator of the Master’s degree in European Union Law (1999-2007) and Board member of the European Women's Lawyers Association.
She received various awards throughout her career such as the Reina Sofía Award for social sciences (research group led by Fundación Atenea), the 2018 Innovation Award conceded by the Councils of Castilla-Castilla León (member of the group) and the Teaching Quality Excellence Award (2019).
She has extensive research experience and is responsible for eight educational innovation projects on equality, disability and online training and seven research projects funded by the Institute for Women. She is also a member of the Research Group Gender relations in the contemporary world: an interdisciplinary perspective from history, geography and law.
She gave many national and international conferences on equality issues in numerous institutions: General Council of the Judicial Power, Madrid Bar Association, Women's World Congress.
She is the author of numerous publications, among which are: Mujer, poder y derecho: Evolución jurídica y social (2018), Género y mujer desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar, Publishers Fundamentos (2012) and Mujeres en los gobiernos locales: alcaldesas y concejalas en la España contemporánea (2015).
