Luis Perdices de Blas
Professor of History of Economic Thought at the Complutense University of Madrid. He was dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences of said university (2007-2011). He published several books and numerous articles on the History of Economic Thought, among which Pablo de Olavide (1725-1803), the Ilustrado (l993) and The Political Economy of the Decline of Castile in the 17th Century (1996); with J. Reeder Mercantilismo: Política Económica y Estado Nacional (1998) y Diccionario de Historia del Pensamiento Económico (2003), together with Manuel Santos, Economía y Literatura (2006), Elena Gallego, Mujeres economistas (2007) and Thomas Baumert, La hora de los economistas. Entrevistas a cuarenta economistas españoles que han contribuido a la modernización de la economía española (2010). Collaborator of Adam Smith Across Nations led by Cheng-chung Lai (Oxford, Oxford University Press, 2000) and Spanish economics and economists (Barcelona, FUNCAS-Gutenberg-Círculo de Lectores, 1999-2004) led by Enrique Fuentes Quintana. He was director of Libros de Economía y Empresa, a book review magazine co-edited by the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences and the Caja Duero Foundation (2006-2011). He was visiting professor at the Universities of New York and Harvard.
