Béatrice Perez
Full Professor at l’Université de la Sorbonne-Paris IV where she teaches History and Civilisation of Modern Spain. After studying Spanish at the same university, between 1998 and 2001 she became a beneficiary of the Fondation Thiers (Institut de France). In 2001, she defended a doctoral thesis on the analysis of the Judeo-converts in the lower western Andalusia at the end of the 15th century. After working for a decade as Maître de Conférences at l’Université de Haute Bretagne-Rennes 2, she moved to the Sorbonne in 2012. He obtained the “Alberto Benveniste 2008” Research Award for his publication Inquisition, Pouvoir Société. La province de Séville et ses judéoconvers sous les Rois Catholiques (2007). Her specialisation in the converted and mercantile world of the early modern times was evidenced in multiple publications, the most notable of which are: Des marchands entre deux mondes (2007); Ambassadeurs, apprentis espions et maîtres comploteurs. Le système de renseignement en Espagne à l’époque moderne (2010) y La pureté de sang en Espagne. Du lignage à la race (2011).
