Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. His fields of research are the theatre, cinema and new technologies; the theory of performance and inter- and transmediality. He coordinates a research project entitled “Theatre beyond the Theatre. Contemporary Performativities in the Digital Era” (PERFORMA Group, 2016-2020). He is Director of the Film Studies Centre at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (CEFILMUS) and member of the advisory council for the Don Galán magazine. He has studied the relationships between theatre and cinema, theatre and its possible virtuality and has published several works on Galician theatre and on various contemporary playwrights, including Valle-Inclán, Angélica Liddell, and Juan Mayorga.  His books include El teatro en el cine (2013), Narrativas transmediales (in partnership with Domingo Sánchez-Mesa), Bases metodolóxicas para unha historia comparada das literaturas na península Ibérica and Escenarios del caos: entre la hipertextualidad y la performance en la era electrónica.
