Myrna Elizabeth Balderas Garza
I was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, and got my BA in Applied Linguistics, by the School of Philosophy, of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. I married to my Yucatecan sweetheart so I went to live in Merida, Yucatan, where I worked as a translator and English teacher. Soon, the passion for teaching defeated my desire to be a translator and started to work at the Language Department of the Autonomous University of Yucatan in 1991.
I have been working in that institution since then and in the meantime, I was awarded an MA by the university of Canterbury Christ Church in Kent, England, a Specialization in ELT, among other certifications and courses. At UADY (Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán), I have been an English teacher, translator, interpreter and since 2006, a teacher trainer for Ss doing their BA in ELT as a Faculty member of the School of Education. I am a full time student in this PhD and my dissertation is related to CLIL and other approaches in Higher Education. Their uses in Public universities in Mexico in pre teaching ss. My supervisors are Drs. Azucena Barahona and Rebeca López.
