Almudena Diaz García
Almudena Díaz García holds a BA in English Studies and an MA in English Linguistics from the Complutense University of Madrid (2011), as well as an MA in Applied Linguistics for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Antonio de Nebrija University (2020). She has lectured in both Spanish and English at numerous prestigious institutions, including Middlebury College, Complutense University of Madrid, and Pompeu Fabra University. Currently, she teaches communicative skills in English and Spanish for professional and academic purposes, as well as Spanish as a Second Language, at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
A fourth-year PhD candidate at Complutense University, supervised by Dr. Carmen Maiz-Arevalo, her research interests include sociolinguistics, pragmatics, digital discourse, and hate speech. Her dissertation is tentatively titled The Use of Aggressive Language on Twitter: A Contrastive Study of Peninsular Spanish and British English. She has presented her research at several prestigious conferences, including:

Almudena is a member of two research groups: UCM’s “Discourse and Communication in English Language: Cognitive and Functional Linguistics Studies” and the Thematic Network on the Communication of Conflict and Mediation (Red CoCoMint). She has also attended numerous other conferences and has been part of several organising committees.
