Sergio Ferrer Navas has graduated in English Studies from Universidad Complutense. In 2009, after having obtained the Certification of Pedagogical Competence, he completed the assessment of the teaching and research periods imparted within the English Studies postgraduate programme in the field of Political Discourse Analysis. His fields of research are Political Discourse Analysis and Rhetoric. He spent a year in a doctoral stay at The University of Texas in 2015. Since then he has contributed to the annual edition of a composition handbook for the students enrolled in the Composition course at UTPB. He has recently joined the Department of English Studies as a lecturer in English Linguistics. He has presented the paper “Ethos and the expression of commitment in Barack Obama´s and Donald Trump’s presidential debates”in the congress UPCEL II, held at Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2017.
