Given its long history (since 2006), the research group, integrated in the English Studies Department of the Faculty of Philology, has changed the formation of its members and has developed additional areas of research within the field of English Linguistics: more precisely, discourse analysis, the acquisition of English as a foreign and international language and its role in the internationalisation of higher education. Two of its members (Emma Dafouz and Begoña Núñez) have formed part of the group since the beginning and they have jointly published 8 scientific works (see portal bibliométrico). 

More recently (2014) and due to the collective work of 4 of the researchers in a MINECO project (Emma Dafouz, Carmen Maíz, Begoña Núñez and Mª Angeles Martínez) and 4 others in the European KA2 EQUIIP project, the group has incorporated new members to its workforce and strengthened it with younger members trained in these areas. The 7 current members of the group have research areas with additional clearly defined objectives and they have collaborated for more than 10 years on different publications, research groups, innovation projects, congresses and more recently on the professional development of faculty at the UCM within the Plan for Curricular Internationalisation (www.ucm.es/pid).
