María Concepción Latorre
Profesora Titular de Universidad y ha sido seleccionada como Experto Nacional Destacado en la Comisión Europea (DG Trade, Bruselas) para el curso 2022-2023. Ha pertenecido al grupo de expertos en comercio internacional de la Comisión Europea desde 2016 y ha sido Vicedecana de Investigación, Posgrado y Relaciones Internacionales de la Facultad de Estudios Estadísticos de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid desde 2018 a 2022. También es Research Fellow del Real Colegio Complutense en la Universidad de Harvard, donde adicionalmente, es co-chair del “Study Group in Data Science” y del “Study Group in Global Governance” ambos del Real Colegio Complutense en la Universidad de Harvard. También co-lidera el “Una Europa Global Governance Research Group” con el Prof. Jan Wouters (KU Leuven). Ha sido consultor del Banco Mundial y del Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo, habiendo analizado para este Ministerio el impacto del Brexit en España y el del Tratado Unión Europea-Mercosur. Es miembro del Comité Ejecutivo del área de Data Science and Artificial Intelligence de la Alianza UNA Europa. Ha realizado estancias de investigación en el Center for International Development de la Harvard Kennedy School, en el CEPII, en la US International Trade Commission y en la University of Nottingham. Sus trabajos han sido publicados en revistas como World Development, Journal of Policy Modeling, The World Economy and Economic Modelling, entre otras. Recientemente, su trabajo realizado en coautoría sobre el Brexit ha recibido el Best Paper Award 2020 in the International Economics del journal Economic Modelling y otro, también en coautoría, sobre el Brexit ha sido galardonado con el Emerald Literati Award in 2019 en la categoría “Highly Commended Paper Award”.
Associate Professor (with tenure) and has been selected as Seconded National Expert at the European Commission (DG Trade, Brussels) for the 2022-2023 academic year. She belongs to the group of experts in international trade of the European Commission since 2016. She has been Vice Dean for Research, Postgraduate Studies and International Affairs of the Faculty of Statistical Studies from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2018-2022). María is a member of the Self Steering Committee of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence group in the Una Europa Alliance. She is Research Fellow del Real Colegio Complutense (RCC) at Harvard University. She additionally co-chairs the Study groups in Data Science and the Study Group in Global Governance” both at Real Colegio Complutense in Harvard University. María also leads jointly with Prof Jan Wouters (KU Leuven) the “Una Europa Global Governance Research Group”. She has carried out consulting projects for the World Bank and the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, having analyzed the impact of Brexit on Spain and of The EU-Mercosur Agreement for this Ministry. Maria has been a Visiting Scholar at the Center for International Development at the Harvard Kennedy School. She has held other research visiting positions in the CEPII, the US International Trade Commission and the University of Nottingham. Recently, her co-authored paper on Brexit has received the Best Paper Award 2020 in the International Economics area of the scientific journal: Economic Modelling and another co-authored paper on Brexit has received the Emerald Literati Award in 2019 in the category “Highly Commended Paper Award”.
