Dr. Vardanyan is a Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Metals Bioleaching at the SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS of Armenia and Head of the Adjunct research professorship program awarded by the Science Committee of Armenia (ARPI project) entitled “Innovative methods for risks characterization of sites contaminated by metals” (2022-2027). She is a microbiologist and her research refers to the field of biotechnology - bioleaching of metals from ore resources and secondary wastes using microorganisms as an alternative and environmentally friendly technology for metal recovery. She did a postdoc in Liege University (Belgium) focusing on recycling of Cu, Zn, Al and Ni from printed circuit boards. She has published 2 book chapters, 30 scientific papers in peer-review journals and 15 papers in local Armenian journals. Dr. Vardanyan serves as reviewer of international journals including Minerals Engineering, Frontiers in Microbiology, Minerals; Sustainability, et al.
