Biography: In 1987 I graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). Medical Doctor by UCM (December 1994). For more than 6 years I have been a member of the Ethical Committee for Clinical Research (CEIC) of the Area 1 of the Autonomous Community of Madrid. I obtained a Diploma in Image Service Management from UCM. I have been organizer and professor of I and II Management Course in Nuclear Medicine (2012 and 2013) and I´m accredited by the continuing education commission for health professions of the CAM. I’ve published more than 70 scientific papers in indexed journals, 20 Books and chapters from books. I have authored the book “Diagnostico y tratamiento de los linfomas y del cáncer de mamá"
I am member of the organizing and scientific committees of 7 national congresses of the specialty. I’ve participated in 21 research projects, research contracts and competitive clinical trials about innovation in new molecules such as FMISO-PET in Brain Tumors.
I have several awards in scientific works, among which I would like to highlight: the National Award AMERSHAM HEALTH , Best article of the Rev. Esp. Medicina Nuclear (2001), and First Prize CILAG for the best poster of the XXVI Congress of the Spanish Society of Nephrology and the 1st Prize Oncological Clinical Case Gregorio Marañón.
My current position is President of the Spanish Society of Nuclear Medicine, Head of the Nuclear Medicine Service of the HGU "Gregorio Marañon", Member of the National commission of the specialty and Member of the commission of medical image of thorax from the Ministry of Health.
Since 2011 I am the Medical Director of the Nuclear Medicine service in MD Anderson Hospital and Visiting Scientist at the CNIC.
