Biography: Fernando obtained his PhD (2006) working on supramolecular chemistry and molecular recognition of biomolecules. After that he's been a postdoc at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Imperial College London. From 2012 to 2018 he worked at Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares (Madrid). In 2018 Fernando got a Tenured Scientist position at the Spanish Research Council (CSIC). His research is focused in the combination of nanomedicine tools for molecular imaging. In the last five years he's particularly focused in the use of nano-radiotracers for early diagnosis and characterisation of atherosclerosis.
