He has participated in numerous studies on animal production and how different production factors can affect the animal, from a welfare and product quality perspective. Currently, he is the Co-Director of the BIANDOCARNE Research Group (Welfare and Breeding of Domestic Animals and Meat Quality). Since joining in 2008 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Production at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of UCM, he has been responsible for both theoretical and practical teaching of the honeybee production. Currently, he is a researcher in projects related to animal production, primarily evaluating how modifying certain factors involved in livestock production affects the obtained animal products. He is also the professor in charge of the Apiculture Livestock Unit at the Teaching Farm of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid. He participates in the project “Best Practices and Innovations for a Sustainable Beekeeping, B-THENET” and is one of the people responsible for the National Center b-TheNet in Spain.
