My interest focuses on deepening knowledge about behavioural and ecological interactions between animals. It is important to apply new techniques and technologies to increase basic knowledge in these areas, carrying out experiments both in the laboratory and in the field. In particular, I am interested in tropical ecosystems, which are very rich in species diversity and yet there is a clear lack of knowledge about many of them. My aim is to discern the modulations of malaria infection in tropical hummingbirds and other bird species, both in their individual activity and in their ecological interactions.
