Call Object
First call for grants 2023 to incentivize the incorporation of established talent within the "ATRAE Program," framed within the State Plan for Scientific, Technical, and Innovation Research 2021-2023, under the State Program to Boost Scientific-Technical Research and its Transfer, State Incorporation Subprogram. The following objectives are pursued with this call:

Facilitate the incorporation of established research talent, internationally recognized and who have recently developed a significant period of their professional activity abroad, thus promoting progress towards a more competitive Spanish System of Science, Technology, and Innovation (SECTI) at a national and international level.

Facilitate the initiation or consolidation of a research line through the funding of an R&D&I project led by the Principal Investigator (PI).

Facilitate the adaptation and renovation of spaces, laboratories, and the improvement of necessary equipment for project execution.
Pre-applications
Candidate Requirements
Doctoral degree obtained before 01/01/2016.
Professional affiliation with foreign research institutions for at least 5 years between 01/01/2016 and the start of the application submission.
Only one pre-application per PI (submitted by the UCM).
Candidate Proposal
To submit the pre-application through the UCM, the candidate must have the endorsement of a department, institute, or research center within the entity. In the case that the candidate submits their application through an institute or research center, along with the signature of the department director, the endorsement of the institute or research center director where the research will be carried out will be required.
The UCM will review all pre-applications endorsed by a UCM department, institute, or research center.
The proposing teaching and research staff (PDI) must submit the following documentation to the email address proy.solic@ucm.es, indicating "ATRAE 2023 CALL" in the subject line:

Digitally signed "Expression of Interest" document, following the model provided by the Vice-Rectorate.

Project information:
- Title, keywords, and duration.
- Project summary in Spanish or English (maximum 3500 characters).

CVA (according to the published model of the call, not exceeding 4 pages).
The internal deadline for the submission of this documentation at UCM is Friday, July 7, 2023, at 14:00 (non-extendable).
The results of the pre-selection for these grants, once evaluated by the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer, will be communicated as soon as possible.
Applications
Once the selected candidates are determined, the necessary procedures will be carried out for their formalization before the deadline established in the call.
