Today's WEBINAR was held with the participation of Johan Bergh (from Oslo University College)
Predictors of dropout and academic performance through pattern recognition and automatic diagnosis
24 abr 2024 - 16:29 CET
The ABANREDES project has held a successful WEBINAR (24 April 2024), as part of its activities to transfer and disseminate its findings. The event was held in two parts.
The first part featured presentations by Professors Adolfo Hernández and Pilar Gago, from Complutense University of Madrid, and Johan Bergh, from Oslo New University College. They have reported on their research findings related to dropout and academic performance at university level. Among some of the findings is that the detection of dropout does not work with variable assignment alone, but improves after the results of the first semester. It is also found that academic performance is always a relevant variable, but there are others, such as the level of preference of the student who was finally able to study.
In the second part, the round table was developed with the participation of the speakers, who answered questions such as: What factors really explain university dropout? Or what is the role of the context or environment in the permanence of students in the university system?
On the main web page where we have published the details of the webinar, you will be able to view some of the documents and presentations used during the day.
