Ángel J. SÁNCHEZ NAVARRO (Madrid, 1964), es Catedrático de Derecho Constitucional en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Complutense, cuyo Departamento de Derecho Constitucional dirigió entre enero de 2018 y diciembre de 2020, fecha en que se incorporó, en situación de Servicios especiales, al Tribunal Constitucional español, como Letrado de adscripción temporal. Ha sido también Profesor Visitante en las Universidades de París 2 (Panthéon-Assas) y Grenoble-Alpes (UGA). Doctor en Derecho con Premio Extraordinario (Junio 1993) y Máster en Ciencias Sociales en el Centro de Estudios Avanzados en Ciencias Sociales (Instituto Juan March de Estudios e Investigaciones, 1989), ha sido en dos ocasiones Subdirector General del Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales (de 2002 a 2004; y desde 2012 a noviembre de 2015), y Vocal asesor en el Departamento de Parlamento e Instituciones del Gabinete del Presidente del Gobierno (2000 a 2002).

Autor de más de cincuenta artículos y seis monografías como autor único, ha participado también en numerosas jornadas y seminarios científicos, tanto en España como en el extranjero (Francia, Italia, Portugal, Bélgica, Marruecos, Serbia, Georgia, México, República Dominicana…). Es miembro del Comité Científico de la Fondation Robert Schuman (París) y, desde junio de 2002 hasta 2015 participó asiduamente, como miembro suplente y como experto, en los trabajos de la Comisión para la Democracia por el Derecho (Comisión de Venecia), del Consejo de Europa.

Ángel J. SÁNCHEZ NAVARRO (Madrid, 1964), Ph.D. in Law, is Full Professor of Constitutional Law at the Complutense University (Madrid), where he teaches since 1989, and where he was Head of  the Department of Constitutional Law (from January 2018 to December 2020). Currently he is Attorney at the Constitutional Court of Spain (temporary assigned, special services). He has also been Visiting Professor at the University of Paris 2 (Panthéon-Assas). Moreover, he served as Deputy Director of the Centre for Political and Constitutional Studies (CEPC), (2002-2004 and 2012-2015), and as a member of the staff in the Cabinet of the Spanish Prime Minister (2000-2002). He has written six books on constitutional matters (parliamentary law, electoral law, the Spanish political transition, constitutional proceedings and the Council of State), and almost fifty articles and essays about different constitutional and political issues. In March, 2012 (and until May, 2014), he was appointed as the Spanish Substitute Member of the Commission for Democracy through Law of the Council of Europe (Venice Commission), a position which he had already occupied previously from 2004 to 2009; and, since 2005, is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Fondation Robert Schuman (Paris). Since october, 2014, he is the Senior Leader of a 24-months Twinning contract (Chef de Projet senior du contrat de jumelage)  MA13/ENP-AP/OT31, “Reinforcement des capacités organisationnelles et techniques de la Délégation Interministérielle aux Droits de l’Homme (DIDH) du Royaume du Maroc”, funded by the European Union.
